Get hands-on with the Beretta APX A1 Full‑Size — the latest entry in Beretta’s striker-fired lineup.
I went into this review hopeful that the APX would change my opinion on Beretta, but unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating. From the first range session to the last, this pistol struggled with consistent reliability — plagued by stove pipes and double feeds throughout.
We put in the work to troubleshoot:
Multiple magazines
Thorough cleaning and proper lubrication
Five different brands of ammo
Three different grain weights
Tested with and without a light and optic
Even contacted Beretta tech support
Despite all of that, the issues persisted.
I’ll be sending this handgun back to Beretta in hopes of resolving the problems and completing a full review once it’s been serviced. Stay tuned for updates — hopefully, there’s a turnaround ahead.
