In this video, I give a full reliability review of the Beretta APX A1 Full Size, covering my experience before and after factory service. Early on, I experienced multiple malfunctions, including double feeds and stovepipes, which obviously raised concerns about reliability in a full-size duty pistol. To be fair and thorough, I sent the firearm back to Beretta for inspection and evaluation.

According to Beretta, they did not find any mechanical issues with the pistol. Since getting the APX A1 back, I’ve put it through additional range time—and the results have been completely different. Post-service, the pistol has run flawlessly, with no repeat malfunctions. In this review, I break down what may have caused the early problems, what Beretta checked, and whether this was a firearm issue, ammo-related, or user-related.
Beyond reliability, I also cover the key features of the APX A1 Full Size, including the striker-fired design, aggressive slide serrations, modular grip frame, improved trigger, optics-ready slide, and overall ergonomics. The APX family is designed for duty use, home defense, and range work, so reliability is critical.
If you’re researching the Beretta APX A1 Full Size, wondering about reported issues, or deciding whether it’s a dependable striker-fired handgun, this honest before-and-after review will help you make an informed decision.
