In this video, I’m putting the Volquartsen Black Mamba .22 LR through its paces to see if it deserves to be called one of the best .22 pistols on the market. The Black Mamba combines Volquartsen’s LLV Competition Upper with a stainless steel match barrel, lightweight aluminum shroud, DLC-coated Competition Bolt, single-port compensator, and a Ruger MK IV 22/45 frame upgraded with Volquartsen’s Accurizing Kit for a crisp 2.25 lb trigger pull. It also retains the convenient push-button takedown system of the Ruger MK IV platform. (Volquartsen Firearms)
Volquartsen Black Mamba –
One of the coolest things about the Mamba lineup is just how many configurations Volquartsen offers. You can choose from 3-inch Mini Mambas, 4.5-inch and 6-inch Black Mambas, Mamba-X models designed around direct-mounted optics, and a wide variety of finishes including black anodized, FDE, OD Green, Tungsten, Sniper Gray, camo, Battleworn, Predator Stripe and more. Different models are also available with fiber-optic or target sights, giving shooters plenty of ways to configure a Mamba for plinking, competition, or just an extremely fun day at the range. After spending some time behind the Black Mamba, the question is simple: is this the best .22 pistol I’ve shot?
